About Stacy

I grew up in a suburb of Dallas, Texas with an older sister and a family devoted to the Texas A&M Aggies. I spent my childhood focused on playing sports, particularly basketball, and really came to value what it means to be a team and the benefit of community. Those experiences instilled a powerful sense that we are stronger together than we are alone.

I did eventually attend Texas A&M and achieved a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. I married early after college and learned to navigate family life with 2 kids while my spouse was frequently deployed in the US Air Force. Being a military spouse forced me to move often and rebuild our whole life every couple of years. Navigating big transitions or frequent unknowns is a reality of life for many and I understand the emotions and challenges involved.

I have personal experience with seeking community support when I began my recovery from addiction in AA. Participation and learning through programs like SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma have also been helpful and I have found that recovery does not look the same for everyone and needs to be unique to each person.

When my recovery started, I was also in the process of divorce and understanding my Queer identity and finding my own path. I know what it’s like to be living one way and later realize that you aren’t in touch with who you are anymore; and I’m here to tell you that you can always make a change.

After moving to Texas I began graduate school to become a counselor and reconnect with my passion to help others. Graduate studies allowed me to work in a variety of settings that have built a wide range of skills I use with my clients. I am passionate about helping people move through the world in a peaceful and productive way. I believe everyone goes through their own experience through recovery and I love being a part of a person's journey to living their authentic life.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

Stacy’s empathetic and compassionate nature allows for a safe and nonjudgmental place for clients to feel comfortable and welcome.

Stacy was and is a catalyst that saved my life. She provides a vast variety of techniques to help with my mental health triggers. And if I tell her in the following session that a technique didn’t work, she always has other ways to help. Stacy is a therapist I will always be grateful for. She is one of those people that makes you see the good in the world.

Stacy, the human

In my free time, you’ll find me watching sports (I especially love NFL and Austin FC games!), kayaking in the Hill Country, recharging my introvert batteries with a good book, and exploring the outdoors with my family and dogs.
